room 10's charades

Recount Writing
WALT: recount an event in a descriptive and engaging way.
WALT: write a quality piece of writing in a short timeframe.

We need to think about:
  • Who our audience is.
  • How we are going hook this audience in.
  • How we are going to create a description of the event which makes our audience feel like they were at the event too.
  • How we are going to keep our audience interested as they read.

Step 1: Take part in the activity.

Step 2: Plan for your writing
Detail,full stop,question mark,

Step 3: Start writing:

On Tuesday pt England school had a team assembly. Room 10 literacy went down to Pt England school field. We stopped and turned into a circle once we got there. Ms said who wants to go first? A girl put up her hand and said" me me me" I’ll do it OK ms west said come on so she done a pose and another girl put up her hand and joined the girl.
A boy have put up his hand his name is Caleb he done a walk a dog instead he called it a puppy. This girl have jumped inside the circle she faked by saying i’ll give you 100 dollars for the puppy she handed out the money not for real. I felt like putting my hand up and pretend taking it. Real real bad Amira put her hand up and said oh i’ll take it then she posed and ms west was ball dancing her.

We stopped we were going to do some more drama it was called charades our team still didn’t decide for charades i thought for a robber Caleb thought for a rugby game. And Andrew thought of playing sitting down. Oh we were confused Damien thought of nothing absolutely nothing! We didn’t end up going up we were find with that we got border and border.
After that is started to rain. Some boys were sad some were happy girls were?
Then all of room 10 at pt England school got in lines and went to class
And there were a blast at lining up we made our teacher happy.

Walt: elaborate on our ideas with relevant details

  1. Take part in the activity: A game of Capture the Flag!

  1. Plan for your writing here:

I came late to school. I got to school and nobody was there. So i asked ms buchanan ms where is room 10. They are out playing capture the flag. Oh thank you so me and Freedom went to find room 10. Where are they said Freedom but we had found them at the field.
When we got there we had groups of 12? So i went to Lennox  what do we do? Oh we are playing capture the flag. So ask ms west what number you are. Ok ms said who ever didn’t have a go go now ms west shouted. We had a game then we stopped.
Nearly for all of us felt like we played for a second, minute well it had a one.
We had to go pick the cones. And get all the hoops and flags. We had fun though people started to moan. and said we will probably have to play this next term. I said no not that long we’ll probably go tomorrow yeah never know Lennox said. We had fun walking back to class someone had dropped some cones. Damien ran to get them. Before we left when we were playing i ran after Aj he was fast josh was in the other team Damien, ayvah,Freedom,Harlyn, inga.
It was a epic game we had fun. The problem was people said others were cheating.
But also when me and freedom got there we were also confused.

Lennox said do you still know your number. Freedom said i’m number nothing a few seconds after. So i’m number (2) Freedom said
We kept changing our mind oh it’s so turning boring.
For me it’s boring because i couldn’t run and i was a little tired.

Launching our rocket

George and I made a rocket at Maker Space. We pumped air into the bottle and then we launched it into space on the basketball court. We also got a bit wet when we turned it into a water rocket. We will have another go to make it travel further next time at Maker Space.

my animation voice over

Animation Writing and Voice Over
Walt be thoughtful about links between oral (spoken), written, and visual language to give purpose to our writing.
Walt develop our correct use of grammar and punctuation.

Your animation task: Create an animation showing how technologies involved in Fishing OR Sailing have changed over time in New Zealand.

Your voice over task: Using your animation plan to help you, write an explanation of how your chosen technology has changed over time. Don’t worry if it is longer than what your voice over will end up being. Remember this is a writing task, which can then be changed or shortened to create your voice over.
